BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A local pierogi drive raised funds on Sunday to send support to Ukraine as the conflict with Russia continues.
Supporters had the chance to dine in or dine out at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with all proceeds from the event going toward humanitarian aid in the area. This is the fourth year of the event, and organizers said they appreciate the community support.
“It’s amazing,” said Sophia Nazarevych, event organizer. “I love to see people who I personally know come out and see us and come talk to us, and then also members of our community just showing consistent support for Ukrainians who are with victims of this war.”
